Description - Hostel

Situated in "OBZ" (Observatory) the bohemian student neighbourhood of Cape Town, 33 South is in the centre of everything hot and happening!Jam-packed with quaint bars, vibey restaurants of all sizes, atmospheres and flavours, live music venues, pool bars and so much more; as well as a stones throw from the train line, Obz really is the place to be.

33 South is in a quiet street, about a 30 second walk away from all the hustle and bustle of the lower main road. 33 South is a "BOUTIQUE BACKPACKERS" - a place where independent travellers can live in a backpacker-style accommodation, while still enjoying the luxuries of a boutique hotel or guesthouse. Breakfast included? Yes. Hotel quality percale linen? Definitely. Attentive and knowledgeable staff? "Fo Sho!" We even have Elvis working here. thankyouverymuch....

With each room themed after a neighbourhood in Cape Town, you really don't need to travel far to get a taste of Cape Town and it's rich cultural diversity. However, should you decide (and we certainly recommend it!) to spend your days out and about, our travel centre can supply you with a wealth of knowledge - from overland trips, to local roadtrips, to where the best surf is, to VIP and free entrance to clubs and even underground trance parties! Neighborhood

OBZ, Observatory, the colourful, boho student neighbourhood has su much to offer, Jam-packed with quaint bars, vibey restaurants of all sizes, atmospheres and flavours, live music venues, pool bars and so much more; as well as a stones throw from the train line, Obz really is the place to be.

. during the Apartheid years, Observatory was one of the few �colourful� suburbs in Cape Town where all races lived together. It continues to be a somewhat alternative part of our beautiful city, a fact of which our residents are very proud! Obz boasts a variety of funky clothing and trinket stalls, book stores and art shops, as well as a monthly Holistic Fair (!!!) which takes place at the Community centre on the first Sunday of each month. Obz, being so close to UCT, is known as the �student area�, and so is always packed with vibey young students.

A Touch Of Madness:
A fantastic little hole-in-the-wall, this restaurant really seems to sum up the whole vibe and feeling of Obz. The relaxed atmosphere, the Victorian style house, the constant flow of friendly people found there are an absolute treat.
Sushi Zone:
A great mixture of Chinese, Korean and Japanese food on offer here � and for pretty reasonable prices! A calm atmosphere, their buffets on Saturday nights are extremely popular, and don�t forget to find out their sushi specials!
Diva Café:
Great Italian Restaurant for a quick bite in the heart of things
Obz Café:
A true treasure, this bar/restaurant/deli/theatre caters for a wide variety of sorts, offering jazz and comedy shows weekly
Panchos:
Round of applause for this little Mexican Restaurant. Offering authentic Mexican drinks and food, this restaurant draws a lively crowd and is usually fully booked over the weekend, so don�t forget to book! Check out the margs, they�re tasty and cheap

ZAR 160 - 500 per night (South African Rand)

Prices are pp for dorms, and Per room in privates. Prices include breakfast.

An additional deposit may be requested prior to arrival. If so, you will be contacted directly after you confirm your booking.

Booking and cancellation policy

Unless otherwise specified, booking payments are non-refundable.

We require a 30% non-refundable deposit to secure a booking. There is no cancellation fee, however, if you should cancel your booking on the day, 50% of the entire stay must be paid.
